Reorganizing Ocellated
Update: These plans never came to fruition as I changed my mind and scrapped the whole idea.
I’m about to shake things up a little bit at Ocellated. It has become very obvious to me that for a blog to be useful and interesting to a larger audience besides just family and friends, it needs to have a focus. From the very beginning, I really wanted to blog about science and faith. But, I also wanted my blog to be a place for family and friends, where they could keep up with the (boring to everyone else) developments in my life. Amy (my wife) would really like to post as well.
The solution is two blogs. I’m going to spin off what I’ve already got so that it falls under the address thedigest.ocellated.com. This will become the location for things that are more personal, and it will include posts from both Amy and I, along with the occasional picture gallery. (And with her helping me take pictures at family events, maybe we can turn it into more than just pictures of butterflies.) Then I’ll focus the main site (ocellated.com) on science and faith.
What this means is that any links to previous postings at ocellated.com/whatever will get changed to thedigest.ocellated.com/whatever. Also, if you’ve subscribed to any RSS feeds, you’ll need to update those as they’ll change too. I’ll include a prominent link to thedigest on the homepage, so you can always get to it just by coming to Ocellated. All of your comments will be preserved just as they are.
This should all be done within a day or two. The site will go down at least briefly as I’m making these changes. I think this will make the site more useful for people and better separate the content.

Yay!! I want to hear more about how Amy copes with being married to a biologist
Hehe…hope things are going well for you two and that thanksgiving was yummy and relaxing. I did some drive-by-birding on turkey day and actually saw a the group of turkeys I have been tracking over the last couple months in someone’s front yard…one was even in one of their trees. I tried to get a pic of it but it didn’t turn out so good. You can see the pics at my photobucket site (http://photobucket.com/albums/d171/kells0510/), password is “kelley”.
Grace and Peace,
Kelley
Kelley, very nice pictures.
Amy copes with being married to a biologist the only way possible. By the grace of God. Unfortunately, I decided to not do the whole Digest thing. I don’t think Amy really wants to post, and I’ve decided that one blog is enough. It was a dumb mistake.
Oh well.
