In case you missed Doonsebury yesterday

Yesterday’s Doonsebury was quite funny.

The reason that I find it funny is that it points out the way in which many Christians deny the scientific understandings of the world they live in, while at the very same time benefiting from that evidence. Evolution is at the heart of treating many of the diseases that afflict us, and the current struggle to stay ahead of bacteria with effective antibiotics is just one example of how evolution affects our everyday lives.

Update: While browsing this evening I came across this post at stanger fruit which makes the exact same point regarding the bird flu that’s of concern in SE Asia. It all deals with evolution…
