I am not a math teacher yet, but from past experience with math teachers, my pre-calculus math teacher was my favorite. I want my students to learn math because they want to and not because they have to. I am anxious to dedicate my career to educate children who want to learn all there is to know about mathematics and to develop thinking skills related to understanding how numbers operate. Children are the key to society’s successful future, and dedicated teachers feel both pleasure and pride in their work knowing that their accomplishments have impacted the lives of so very many youngsters and their futures. I am honored that my sister, and brother-in-law are both math teachers, and my mother is both a teacher and an educational administrator. My older sister is now a seventh grade math, and my goal is to follow in her footsteps. Throughout her career, I have witnessed both her successes and failures, and she has become an outstanding role model for all math secondary education majors. Both my sister and my mother have helped me become more aware of what to expect as a teacher and have been great role models for me. Teaching would enable me to work with children so that I may impart my energy and thirst for knowledge to my students, and mathematics opens the world of critical thinking and endless possibilities to youngsters
